Defeating a Corporate Special Interest-Supported Assembly Candidate

For the 2014 June Primary, Mack-Sumner was hired by a coalition of labor groups to defeat an assembly candidate that had spent years working for corporate special interests. In collaboration with program funders and the consulting team, MSC developed a multi-mode communication strategy using digital media and direct mail. Our digital program was comprehensive – utilizing a microsite, cookie-matched targeting, pre-roll advertising on YouTube and Hulu, search advertising through Google Adwords and Display, and social advertising through promoted posts and Facebook and Twitter. In the end, what was originally a neck-in-neck race turned into a seven-point victory for our endorsed candidate.
