In January of 2012, the North Carolina Legislature banned organized labor from collecting dues money via payroll deductions. This greatly threatened the ability organizations like the North Carolina Association of Educators would have to advocate for better pay, smaller class sizes and affordable health benefits for teachers across North Carolina.

To combat this attack on teachers, the Mack-Sumner team worked with the NCAE in launching a campaign notifying teachers of the change and requesting that they pay their dues through automatic bank draft.

Mack-Sumner’s in-house creative department put together pieces that were mailed over the course of several months to alert teachers in a variety of creative, eye-catching ways.

As a result, more than xxxx North Carolina teachers made the request and protected their ability to have their union continue to fight for the well-being of all educators and their students.
